この展覧会は、「覚醒」という概念をテーマにしています。覚醒には「目覚め」という意味だけでなく、「悟り」や「意識」といった深い意味も含まれており、覚醒というテーマの中心には「経験」があります。それは、作品に形を与え命を吹き込むアーティストの経験であり、アートに触れることで観客が目覚め、変化していく経験でもあります。
オウィディウスにとって、芸術は人生の経験から生まれるものだと考えました。芸術とは、アーティストの視点と魂を形成する旅の中から生まれるものです。覚醒という言葉もまた、この考えを象徴しています。それは、アートが持つ感情や気づきを通じて、アーティストと観客がつながり、共に成長するプロセスを表しています。
覚醒は単なる抽象的な概念ではありません。それは、成長の過程や感覚を通じて新たな気づきを得る体験そのものです。この展覧会に展示された作品は、ただそこに存在するものではなく、新しい経験への扉として機能しています。それぞれの作品は、アーティストの制作過程を反映し、観客との出会いによって新しい命を得るのです。

“Artifices qui facit usus adest.” Ovidius
"It is through experience that one becomes an artist."
The exhibition revolves around the concept of Kakusei, a Japanese term meaning “awakening,” but also “enlightenment” or “consciousness”. Experience, therefore, becomes the central theme of the artistic narrative: the experience of the artist who gives form and life to the artwork, and the experience of the viewer, who is awakened and transformed through their interaction with art.
For Ovidius, art is born from lived experience, from a journey that shapes the artist’s vision and soul. Similarly, kakusei, in its essence as “awakening,” amplifies this perspective, embodying an ongoing process of growth that connects artist and viewer through the emotions and perceptions evoked by the artwork.
Kakusei is not an abstract idea but a dynamic process of evolution, sensory engagement, and cognitive awakening. Each piece serves not as a static object of creativity but as a portal to new experiences. It reflects the artist’s journey during creation and the artwork’s transformation as it transcends its medium, comes to life, and embraces the viewer. Through the multimedia elements, each viewer will have a unique experience, tailored to their individuality, fostering reflection on the role of art in awakening and transforming how we perceive and live in the world.
The exhibition invites the audience to reflect on how artworks serve as spaces for awakening, discovery, and rediscovery of the world, of oneself, and of others. The experience of art is never static but a moment of connection with something greater, something that prompts introspection and growth. The exhibition underscores that art, both in its creation and its reception, is a living, continuous process that evolves over time and holds the power to awaken consciousness.
