絵画とビデオを使用して、デジタル世代の精神を反映させた実験的作品。イスラム伝統の“Dhirk”は、神の記憶 (お祈り）を意味します。これは、儀式の繰り返しや瞑想、自然の美といった、様々な形でもたらされます。この作品は、新時代のデジタル形態の”神の記憶”についての個人的なナビゲーションを反映させたものです。札幌の自然も、作品の基礎として象徴的に描かれます。
ミリアム・メグ
ロンドンを拠点とする画家。1990年、ブルガリア人の母とアルジェリア人の父の元、ブルガリア、ヴァルナで生まれる。
UAL(ロンドン芸術大学）グラフィックデザイン科、卒業。同科、2013年修了。大学院卒業後、広告業界でアートディレクターとしてキャリアを積む。クライアントは、ナイキ、ブルガリ等。同時に画家として活動。
ヘイワードギャラリー、テートモダン、Vogueアラビア版にて紹介される。ロンドンで２回の個展、またUK、ドバイ、アメリカで展示をしている。

REMINDERS

Series of 3-4 canvas, Painting on paper, Projected video work
The body of work will be an exploration through painting and video, that reflects on spirituality in the digital age. Dhirk* in Islamic tradition refers to the remembrance of God, this can come in many forms, from ritual repetition and meditation, to contemplating nature and beauty as *reminders. The work will reflect on a personal navigation of new age forms of remembrance through the digital age, and the role of social media and technology. The nature in Sapporo will form a basis for the symbolism used within the work.
Meryem Meg is a London based Painter, Born in 1990 in Varna to a Bulgarian mother and Algerian father.
Graduated with a BA and MA from UAL both in Graphic Design in 2013. Since then her career in advertising has developed, working with clients such as Nike, Bvlgari and more as an art director, counterbalancing her studio practice as a painter.
She has previously been featured and worked along-side the Hayward gallery, Tate modern and Vogue Arabia to name a few. Most recently she has hosted two solo shows in London and exhibited work across the UK, Dubai and the US and is currently completing a month residency in Sapporo, Japan.
